Ghana was not Founded by One Man - Prez Akuffo Addo

In his Founders' Day address, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo rejected the notion that Ghana's independence was the work of a single founder, namely Kwame Nkrumah. He emphasized that the country's freedom was the result of a collective struggle involving many individuals and groups across different generations

While acknowledging Nkrumah's significant role, Akufo-Addo stressed the importance of recognizing the broader historical context. He also mentioned the establishment of August 4 as Founders' Day to honor this collective effort, while maintaining September 21 as Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day.
