An NDC activist, Devine Deh, has criticized the digitalization efforts of the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration, labeling them as deceptive and fraudulent.
According to Devine, a government led by John Mahama would establish a genuinely effective digital economy, in stark contrast to what the current administration has offered. He expressed these views during the launch of the NDC Youth Manifesto in Accra on Monday, August 12.
Devine highlighted Mahama's history of successfully implementing digital projects, such as the Accra Digital Centre, as evidence of his capability to deliver true digital transformation in Ghana.
John Dramani Mahama, the NDC’s Flagbearer and former President, also addressed the youth during the manifesto launch. He affirmed his belief in the potential of every young Ghanaian and promised to work towards creating a brighter future for them.
Mahama committed to recovering public funds allegedly misappropriated by officials under the Akufo-Addo administration if he wins the upcoming elections. He emphasized that the misuse of Ghana’s resources will not continue under his leadership.
Reflecting on Ghana’s current challenges, Mahama noted the growing difficulties faced by young people, including high unemployment and the lack of opportunities. He criticized the education system under the NPP government and expressed concern over the rising public debt and deteriorating living conditions, which have led to a sense of hopelessness among many.
Mahama urged the youth not to lose hope, assuring them that he would work tirelessly to create more opportunities and restore faith in the nation. He stressed the importance of the 2024 elections, calling for leaders who understand and share the struggles and dreams of young Ghanaians.
In his closing remarks, Mahama expressed enthusiasm about delivering on his promises, alongside Professor Naana Opoku-Agyemang, who is poised to become Ghana’s first female Vice President. He urged Ghanaians to vote for them, pledging to fulfill his responsibilities to both the people and God.
